‘CBGB’ Poster Of Stana Katic As Genya Ravan

The Hollywood Reporter has a new poster for the film CBGB, a movie about the impact of the real life music venue (of NYC) of the same name.

The latest poster is of Stana Katic (Castle) as Genya Ravan. Raven was a member of the first all-female band, Goldie and the Gingerbreads to be signed to a major label. When that band broke up in the late 60′s, she joined as lead singer for the rock band Ten Wheel Drive. A skilled producer, Ravan is credited with having produced Young Loud and Snotty (1977), the debut album from punk group The Dead Boys.

SYNOPSIS:

‘CBGB’ follows the story of Hilly Kristal’s New York club from its origins as Country, Bluegrass and Blues (CBGB) to what it ultimately became: the birthplace of underground rock ‘n roll and punk. Kristal, a fan of Country and Bluegrass dreamed of having a club in the lower Eastside that catered to that kind of music, when he had difficulty booking those bands he turned to other kinds of rock music. Hilly had one demand of the acts he booked, they could only play their own original music. No top 40′s, no covers. It was the credo he lived by, support the artist at whatever the cost.

The film stars: Alan Rickman, Ashley Greene, Malin Akerman, Stana Katic, Rupert Grint, Joel David Moore, Ryan Hurst, Josh Zuckerman, Estelle Harris, Julian Acosta, Richard de Klerk and Mickey Sumner.
